Development of a real-time patient management system, based on a cross-platform graphical user interface to a SQL backend. Design of this system required liasing with clinical, medical and administrative staff groups within the centre, to determine their needs. As a programmer in a small team, my responsibilities included writing a library of core components available to all developers and setting up the version control mechanism.

My work involved building web pages and components (using Vignette StoryServer) for the website for The Guardian newspaper. This involved liasing with editorial and production staff and the managing and prioritisation of tasks. Projects in which I had an active role included the 2001 General Election coverage and the launch of several new sites including Politics, Sport and Jobs.
This role involved preparing the company's monthly page impressions audit (using perl scripts and Net Analysis), and attending the Audit Bureau of Circulation's (ABC) Technical Group meetings which standardise the measurement of internet traffic within the UK.
